YouTube Now Screening Free Movies With Ads; Only Available In The US
YouTube Movies recently added 100 hours of free movies to its list. Specifically, the video sharing site actually began adding the free movies to its page since last month, which titles such as Legally Blonde, most of the Rocky movies, The Terminator, as well as All Dogs Go To Heaven.
Of course, like all free services in today’s modern age, there are a couple of catches. Firstly, all the free movies come with ads attached to them. They pop up mid-film, just as they would when you watch a typical YouTube video. It’s a fair trade, given that there are some titles in that list that would appeal to a good number of YouTube’s 1.9 billion monthly active viewers.
The second catch is more of a regional issue. At current, YouTube Movies is not available in Malaysia. Seriously, if you visit the service’s official page, all you’re greeted with is a blank playlist.
Fortunately, there is a way to skirt the issue. All you need is a VPN that has access to a US-based IP. Once you’re connected, the playlists should automatically be visible. In our case, we found that the VPNs TunnelBear and Windscribe seemed to work.
