Lazada Sold 27000kg of Milo In The First 2 Hours of 11.11; Alongside 11 Volkswagen Polos

According to Alibaba Group, almost RM 42 billion worth of gross merchandise volume (GMV) was generated in the first hour of this year’s festival with around RM 6 billion alone took place within the first two minutes. When it comes to Malaysia, we are still waiting for the respective e-commerce platforms to release their stats which will take place soon enough, but two early stats that Lazada released yesterday were quite interesting.

Even though we hear reports of payment hiccups, the fact that 27,000 kg of Milo were purchased on the e-commerce platform within the first 2 hours after the 11.11 shopping festival started is quite insane. In general, this just showed the level of love that Malaysians have for the malt chocolate drink.

Other than that, Lazada has also revealed that all 11 Volkswagen Polos that were made available during 11.11 were snatched in less than one minute after the shopping festival started. Of course, the buyers were not asked to fork out the full price of the car on the spot but instead, all they need to do is pay RM 799 as a booking fee.

In general, the two stats above is just a tiny glimpse of what could be Lazada Malaysia’s biggest 11.11 shopping festival so far. Now, let’s wait for the post-event report to see if the e-commerce platform really managed to set the bar higher this time around.
