Nokia Enters Wireless Audio Market; Unveils True Wireless Earbuds And Pro Wireless Earphones

Nokia has just announced two new products, and surprisingly, they aren’t phones. They’re called the True Wireless Earbuds and the Pro Wireless Earphones, which is about as straightforward as names can get.

Let’s start with the Nokia True Wireless Earbuds. As the name suggests, they are true wireless earbuds, but you stow them away into a tube-like carrying case which also doubles as a charger.

Each earbud weighs five grams, and together they can pump out music for 3.5 hours, or sustain calls for four hours. The carrying tube provide three additional full charges to the buds, and charging the tube requires a USB Type-C cable.

The buds themselves connect to your mobile devices using Bluetooth 5.0, and are IPX4 rated for splash resistance. You also get three different bud tips – S, M and L – so you’re not stuck with buds that are too small or too big.

The Nokia Pro Wireless Earphones look more like your traditional wireless earphones, complete with a neck chain. The end of each earbud is also magnetised so that you can snap them together when not in use.

The magnets also serve as shortcuts for certain functions. Putting them together ends calls and pauses music, while taking them apart picks up calls and resumes your paused tracks. These and other features can also be accessed from the neck chain unit.

These connect to your mobile devices using Bluetooth 4.2. You can expect up to 10 hours of battery life with the Pro Wireless Earphones, and charging time takes between two to three hours to get it from zero to 100%. They come with not only bud tips of three different sizes, but wingtips of three different sizes as well.

There’s no word on local availability nor price for either of these, but we’ll let you know once we find out more.
