Microsoft updates its all-in-one desktop with the Surface Studio 2

At Microsoft’s New York City keynote on October 2nd, the tech giant uncovered the latest iteration of its all-in-one desktop, the Surface Studio 2.

The Surface Studio is Microsoft’s high-end PC that’s marketed at the creative market as the company’s answer to Apple’s iMac line.

The new machine features a NVIDIA GPU upgrade that makes it 50 percent faster than last year’s model, resulting in it being the fastest Surface ever, according to Microsoft.

On the outside, the all-in-one PC looks the same as the first Surface Studio. It features a large display that’s capable of being positioned like a traditional computer, or laid almost flat on a table like a giant tablet.

That giant display has received some hardware upgrades over last year’s model, however. Microsoft went with new LCD display technology that is 38 percent brighter and features 22 percent more contrast.

The new is packed with 2TB of SSD storage instead of the hybrid drive featured in the first Surface Studio.

The Studio 2 also includes an improved touchscreen that allows the all-in-one pc to turn hand-writing into formatted text.

More to come…
