iOS 12.1 Beta Fixes Wired Charging Issue on iPhones and iPads.
Just a couple of days ago we heard that the new iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max were having issues charging while the phones were asleep. We then heard that it’s starting to affect older devices updated to iOS 12. Today, we heard that iOS 12.1 Beta is out, and it contains a fix for this issue.
According to a tweet by Rene Ritchie, the new iOS 12.1 beta fixes the charging issue so that you won’t need to do a double take whenever you plug the charging cable into your iPhone or iPad. That said, it remains to be seen if this fix will be rolled out earlier, or if users will have to wait until iOS 12.1 is ready for public use.
Today’s iOS 12.1 beta includes a fix for the charging issue some people were experiencing with iPhone and iPad.
With it, no more delay or uncertainty about charging. You’ll be back to just plugging it in and getting power.
(Pretty much what I said in my video yesterday.)

If you’re an iOS user that fell victim to this bug, then you’ll either have to wait until the fix rolls out – either as a hotfix or as part of iOS 12.1 – or take part in the beta.
