Facebook Redesigns Messenger App To Be Simpler and More Streamlined

Facebook has announced that it’s updating its Messenger app to be simpler and more streamlined. Rather than being chock full of features that you able to find elsewhere on the Facebook platform, the updated Messenger app which is being dubbed as the Messenger 4 has the simplicity befitting of an instant messaging app.

Instead of having multiple tabs at the top and another set at the bottom, the new Messenger will have just three at the bottom. One is for Chats that lets you keep track of the conversations you’ve had with people, another is People that tells you who’s online and who’s posted Stories. The last one is Discover, which will connect you to businesses and games.

Another addition is the ability to customize your chats with color gradients. The example Facebook gave was that you’ll be able to see colors change as you scroll up and down a conversation. The company has also revealed that it is planning to release even more features to Messenger very soon including Dark Mode.

Meanwhile, the newly redesigned Messenger app is being rolled out globally over the coming weeks. So, expect to see it on your device very soon.
