ASUS Showcases 49-Inch ROG Strix XG49VQ HDR Curved Gaming Monitor
If you thought ASUS’ ROG Strix PG27UQ 4K HDR gaming monitor was as ridiculous a desktop display could get, think again. Earlier today, the brand showcased the ROG Strix XG49VQ, its massively ultrawide gaming monitor that measures in at 49-inches.
Specs-wise, the XG49VQ is a Double-Full HD (DFHD) display that comes with a 3840 x 1080 pixel resolution, spread across the display’s 32:9 aspect ratio. The surprises don’t just end there either. To sweeten the pot, the monitor also boasts a 144Hz refresh rate, as well support for AMD’s Radeon FreeSync 2 anti-screen tearing technology. To ensure that it provides an unparalleled level of immersion, the XG49VQ also features a curved display.
Last but not least, the XG49VQ is also carries VESA’s DisplayHDR 400 certification, along with a 125% sRGB colour gamut accuracy. Allowing the display to produce deeper black levels along with a wider and brighter colour array.
At the time of writing, ASUS did not say when the monitor would be arriving on our shores. But like the PG27UQ, the monitor won’t run cheap, and is likely to cost interested parties a pretty penny.
