TNG Digital Opens New Office; Revamps Mobile App
Touch ‘N Go Digital (TNG Digital) has just launched its new office in Bangsar South. Alongside this, a few new features have also gone live with the Touch ‘N Go mobile app, including a new UI that makes the app a lot easier to .
So what’s new with the revamped mobile app? To start, there is the new UI as mentioned. It’s a lot more intuitive than before, and even if you don’t think so, there’s a tutorial to get you used to the way the app works.
In function, the app is mostly unchanged – an e-wallet option that you can use. In addition to that though is the fact that you can now register up to three Touch ‘N Go cards to the app, letting you monitor the remaining balance in each card. Unfortunately, you still can’t use the e-wallet to top up your cards, nor can you consolidate the cards’ value into one. The people at TNG Digital say that they’re working on this, so we’ll let you know when doing so is possible.
Like any other e-wallet, you can use it as a payment option when you buy stuff from participating shops, book flights and movie tickets, as well as transfer money in the e-wallet to other users.
But, surely the Touch ‘N Go e-wallet must have more benefits than that, since it’s got the Touch ‘N Go name? You’re right, but these features are not yet in effect. Like the ability to use the e-wallet to top up your Touch ‘N Go cards, these extra features will be rolled out in phases in the future.
So what exactly are these features? As you’d expect, they’re all transport related, but it would make your experience both behind the wheel and in the public transport network a lot more convenient. Remember the RFID stickers that Touch ‘N Go is testing? In the future, paying tolls using the RFID sticker will have the fare deducted from your e-wallet. You’ll also be able to use the app when taking the LRT, where a QR code in the app will essentially replace the transit token.
