The Alcatel 5V Has Officially Landed In Malaysia; Retails For RM898
Alcatel made a comeback into Malaysia today with the launch of the Alcatel 5V. The phone is one of the company’s latest mid-range smartphone, but surprisingly boasts some of the latest smartphone features being offered in the market today.
Specs-wise, the Alcatel 5V is equipped with a MediaTek helio P22 SoC, 3GB RAM, and 32GB of expandable storage (up to 128GB via a microSD card). The phone also sports a 6.2-inch FullView HD+ (1500 x 720p) 19: 9 notched display, which provides users with an 88% screen-to-body ratio. Keeping this components running is a gratuitous 4000mAh battery.
Regarding its camera performance, the Alcatel 5V’s uses 12MP + 5MP dual sensor setup as its main camera array, and a 8MP sensor for its front-facing camera. To complement the camera system further, pictures taken with the camera can also be enhanced and tweaked with the phone’s on-board AI, which is capable of recognising 11 different scenes and subjects (when activated, naturally).
On the subject of AI, the Alcatel 5V is also one of the few smartphones that is fully integrated with Google Lens, allowing users to easily access the feature via Google Assistant or through the phone’s camera.
The Alcatel 5V will be available in Malaysia starting from today at an offical SRP of RM898. Consumers will be able to purchase the phone at all authorised retailers, and via Alcatel e-commerce partners Shopee and 11Street. in two colour options: Spectrum Blue and Spectrum Black. Additionally, the phone will run Android 8.1 Oreo OS out of the box.
