Canon Updates EF L-Series Telephoto Zoom Lenses

Canon has launched the updated models of its EF70 L-Series Telephoto Zoom Lenses. The lenses in question are the EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM and the EF70-200mm f/4L IS II USM.

Both lenses comes with new features and updates. They feature optics that utilise one fluorite and five UD elements, allowing both lenses to deliver superior image quality that is backed with stunning resolution and contrast. The EF70-200 f/2.8L IS III USM also features key IS performance upgrade of up to 3.5 stops, whicle the EF70-200 f/4L IS II USM has a total of five stops, along with three mode selections.

In terms of lens construction, the EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM comprises 23 elements in 19 groups and weighs in at approximately 1.5kg, while the EF70-200mm f/4L IS II USM has 20 elements in 15 groups and has a weight of approximately 780g.

The lenses are also coated with a new Air Sphere Coating (ASC) technology, which is designed to suppress flaring and ghosting, further contributing to allowing photographers to capture an even higher image quality.

The Canon EF70-200mm f/4 IS II USM is already available, and will retail at RM5499. Sadly, Canon said that the EF70-200mm f/2.8 IS III USM will only be available in Malaysia on another date in the future.

In conjunction to the launch of the lens, Canon will also be hosting a bunch of promotions at its new opened Canon Image Square outlet in Mid Valley from 16 July to 22 July 2018. One of these promotions includes a 50% discount off an Extender with the purchase the new EF70-200mm f/4L IS II USM lens.
