NVIDIA To Talk About “Next Generation Mainstream GPU” During Hot Chips 30 Symposium
Official information about NVIDIA’s next generation GeForce GTX GPU has been scarce, but word has it that the we might actually be able to hear more during the annual Hot Chips conference in August.
NVIDIA’s Stuart Oberman is slated to give his talk about “NVIDIA’s Next Generation Mainstream GPU” on 20 August 2018 according to the schedule posted on its site. Based on the date, we can assume that the GPU maker’s rumoured GeForce GTX 11 Series won’t be announced any later than the month of August.
NVIDIA has been tight-lipped about the development of its next generation GeForce GTX 11 Series GPU, codenamed Turing. Reports have suggested that only the GeForce GTX 1180 would be making its debut as early as 15 June 2018; just a week after COMPUTEX 2018. Specs-wise, the card will be powered by either 8GB or 16GB of the new GDDR6 memory configuration, and house up to 3,586 CUDA cores.
