Computex 2018: The ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 Is The World’s First 10Gbps Router

Besides the ROG Phone, a mousepad with wireless charging, and a whole new line of AiO coolers, ASUS also launched the ROG Rapture GT-AX11000, the world’s first 10Gbps Wi-Fi router. Additionally, this 8-antenna router also uses the latest 802.11ax Wi-Fi standard, giving it more than twice the data rates of a router running on the current 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard.

In terms of wireless throughput, the Rapture GT-AX11000 uses tri-band technology, giving users the options of a 2.4GHz and two 5GHz frequencies. As a gaming router, the router also provides triple-level game acceleration. This feature essentially boosts game bandwidth traffic every step of the way.

Additionally, the router also has a 2.5G Tbase port among its ports. This new port provides two and a half times faster transfer speeds, while taking into consideration other devices that are connected to router (wired or wirelessly).

The router also has a dedicated GameBoost button built into it, which prioritises all gaming packets within a connected network. Specs-wise, the Rapture GT-AX11000 runs on a BCM4908 and BCM43684 chipset, 1GB DDR3 RAM, and comes with 256MB of flash memory.

The ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 is expected to be globally available sometime during the third and fourth quarter of this year. Its local pricing for Malaysia will undoubtedly be announced then.
