Apple and Pixar partner on new augmented reality format

Apple has revealed a new partnership with Pixar on a single file format for augmented reality called USDZ.

According to Apple senior vice president of software engineering Craig Federighi, USDZ will allow developers to quickly place 3D objects into the real world.

One of the companies using USDZ is Adobe, with company CTO Abhay Parasnis announcing that augmented reality is coming to Creative Cloud.

According to Parasnis, Photoshop and Dimension will be able to be use USDZ to create augmented reality content in real-time.
