Here’s what to expect from the HTC U12+

HTC u12+

The reveal date for the HTC U12+ is now only a few days away.

While rumours and leaked images don’t haven’t left much up to the imagination, it’s all we have to go by so far. Unlike Huawei or OnePlus, HTC has been very tight lipped about its upcoming flagship. The only tweet with any official information is the one shown below.

And all the tweet says is ” A phone that is more than the sum of its specs,” with a picture showing pieces of a device. HTC confirmed that none of the parts shown belong to its upcoming smartphone.

While HTC has been quiet, serial leaker Evan Blass has not. Over the past week the leaker has revealed almost everything about HTC’s upcoming flagship.

The above tweet shows  three out of the four colour options for the upcoming handset: ‘Violet,’ ‘Translucent’ and ‘Black.’ The phone will also come out in ‘Rose Red,’ according to a leak from Roland Quandt.

And here’s the spec sheet.

What’s interesting in the spec sheet, as Alex Dobie of Android Central pointed out, is the following:

This suggests the phone will feature some sort of haptic feedback, similar to 3D touch on Apple’s iPhone devices. In case you can’t read the spec sheet (the image is rather small after all), we’ve listed the rumoured specs below.

Snapdragon 845 processor/6GB of RAM/64GB, 128GB of storage +micro SD up to 2TB/Android 8.0 Oreo /12-megapixel wide angle, f/1.75 aperture + 16-megapixel, f/2.6 aperture/dual LED mode/32-second long exposure/dual 8-megapixel sensors with f/2.0 apertures/bokeh mode on both cameras/ face unlock/Edge Sense 2.0 / 6-inch 2880 x 1440 pixel resolution Super LCD6 display/18:9 aspect ratio/ 3,500mAh battery/USB Type C/IP68 water and dust resistant/NFC/ Bluetooth 5.0

There have been other rumours regarding HTC U12+ specs, though previous leaks back up Blass’ tweeted spec sheet.

Quandt’s tweet, mentioned earlier, also says that the HTC U12+ won’t be cheap, but he later points out that it’s likely not going to be overly expensive either.

HTC will officially reveal the U12+ on May 23rd.
